Now with support for webMethods 8… and more!!!

CrossVista Inc is pleased to announce support for version 8 of Software AG’s webMethods Suite.  “Version 1.5b of CrossVista TEAM Server for webMethods continues our excellent track record of quickly supporting new releases of the webMethods product suite.” says, Dan Schirf, Vice President of Sales and Business Development at CrossVista. “We normally add support for new webMethods releases within one quarter of them becoming Generally Available from Software AG.  The team did an amazing job getting this ready in just the first month of the year.”

In addition to rolling up all previously made fixes and certifying support for webMethods 8, TEAM Server v1.5b includes multiple customer requested features including, but not limited to,…

Expanded Optimize Support – We have re-architected the way we connect to Optimize by going directly against the analytic engines (rather then connecting via MyWebMethods). This mechanism provides a more flexible way of working with Optimize components and makes it easier for users to manage multiple Optimize instances.

Expanded MyWebMethods (MWS) Support
– We’ve improved upon our earlier support for MyWebMethods Server.  We have added support for managing MWS Directory Services, MWS Data Sources, and MWS Naming Directories (for Providers, Connection Factories, and Destinations).  This expanded support provides comprehensive coverage for all critical MWS components.

More Flexible and Enhanced Security Model
– We’ve made multiple enhancements to make our security implementation more flexible for our customers.  Users can now be centrally defined in MWS or an external LDAP and will be appropriately authenticated and authorized.  We’ve also expanded our role definitions so that, in addition to “developer”, “lead”, and “administrator” roles, we’ve added the “auditor” (with read/diff only) and operator (read/diff/deploy) roles.  Users can also now be selectively assigned roles for specific repositories.  For example, a user might be configured with the “developer” role when working in project A’s development repository but be assigned the “auditor” role when working in project B’s QA repository.  This is especially useful to some of our larger customers who often have people playing multiple roles across different projects.

By bundling together the functions of Version Control, Change, Config, and Release Management, CrossVista TEAM Server provides one solution for managing all aspects of the webMethods Application Lifecycle.
